Frigoglass Group: Intranet Portal

Frigoglass Group, a multinational organization based in Greece and with presence in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania, assigned the development of their Intranet Portal to Information Systems Impact.

Aiming at the creation of central reference point for the all workers worldwide, Frigoglass Group needed an internal system - Intranet Portal - for the development of common corporate culture and the improvement of internal communication and collaboration between employees. The enormous volume of information, the multilingual content, the big administrative organization, the numerous internal processes between geographically distributed departments, the need for information diffusion to multiple recipients via a commonly acceptable communication means led Frigoglass to create a central Corporate Intranet Portal, that would address to the whole organization, as well as a multitude of  departmental portals that address to both local teams per country as to “virtual” workgroups.

The Intranet Portal was developed by Information Systems Impact, which adapted the out-of-box-features of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 in such a way, so as to cover the communication needs of Frigoglass both regarding to information diffusion as well as the visual presentation of the portal.

Information Systems Impact has already migrated Frigoglass’ Intranet Portal to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server - MOSS 2007 and has developed an advanced Travel Management system that include multi-level workflows for web-based electronic forms (Request for Travel, Expense Report InfoPath forms) as well as advanced reporting based on Excel Services.
