Praktiker Hellas: electronic document exchange
Praktiker Hellas in cooperation with Information Systems Impact has implemented as first step the e-ordering process. The aim was to change the traditional way of ordering, replacing the use of fax with state-of-the-art and secure exchanging data through EDI. The i@connect service has been certified by Praktiker Germany for secure and reliable exchange of information since 2003 when Praktiker started e-ordering. Since then, more than 200.000 EDI orders have been exchanged and transformed/translated into the various document types/formats, for direct integration in more than 69 suppliers using i@connect services for receiving electronic orders from Praktiker Hellas. 80% approximately, of the total orders prepared by Praktiker Hellas are sent electronically. This is an impressive penetration of e-ordering not only compared to the Greek but also to the European market.
Since April 2006, suppliers have been starting the exchange of the second EDI message which is the electronic submission of dispatch advices. Praktiker Hellas receives 25% of their dispatch advices electronically as well, and it is expected that the growth of this percentage will be up to 50% within the next year. Furthermore, since the beginning of 2008 Praktiker Hellas expanded its cooperation with Information Systems Impact to receive also invoices electronically from @connect.
Electronic monitoring of sales and inventory data (sales@connect)
In 2007, Praktiker Hellas, decided to expand its cooperation, beyond the electronic document exchange space, with a new service of Information Systems Impact, called sales@connect. Through this innovative and extremely high value added service, suppliers of Praktiker Hellas have the ability to access important and critical sales and stock information for each product at a store level on a daily basis.
