Carrefour - Marinopoulos: electronic document exchange
The cooperation of Carrefour-Marinopoulos with Information Systems Impact, begun in 2003 and expanded into many areas of inter-organizational process automation regarding the exchange of documents with their suppliers.
Carrefour-Marinopoulos started with the electronic submission of orders from the central warehouses towards their suppliers using the web@connect service. As information technology evolved in Greece, suppliers were asking for greater automation and integration. Therefore, in addition to web@connect, the i@connect service was used for integrating electronic orders directly into the supplier’s backend (ERP, Accounting S/W, legacy systems). Until now, more than 60.000 electronic orders have been sent, using the @connect services by Information Systems Impact, from the central warehouses of Carrefour-Marinopoulos to the 65 suppliers, which are part of the service. By the end of the same year, Carrefour-Marinopoulos decided to proceed with the second stage, referring to the receipt of electronic invoices using i@connect. Many companies responded quickly and started submitting their invoices electronically. After three years, Carrefour-Marinopoulos has received using i@connect service more than 1.800.000 invoices. For 2007, is expected that over 800.000 electronic invoices are going to be delivered.
Information Systems Impact was one of the first certified electronic document exchange partners of Carrefour Group in Europe since 2003 and has passed through all security and availability checks concerning the electronic exchange of data, set by Carrefour Group in France in order to be able to cooperate with Carrefour-Marinopoulos.
